Also, I think I gave some of you the incorrect information-to keep the hood and return the cap. If that's you, don't worry, just please respond to this email or come talk with me at my office (if you're still in town). Apologies for the inconvenience. Warmly, Elizabeth Hart-Baldridge, M.S. Ed. I've received some questions about diplomas in the last couple of weeks. So, if you've recently graduated, this information is for you. This is what I know about diplomas: 1. Diplomas will be mailed 6-8 weeks from the end of the semester (6-8 weeks from about August 15 when grades posted). 2. Diplomas are mailed to the Home address listed in Student Center. If students want their diploma mailed to a different address, they should add a Diploma address in Student Center. 3. Here's a helpful page with links to additional information about diplomas: https://parent.wisc.edu/general/diploma-information/#:~:text=Diplomas%20are%20mailed%20to%20the,Diploma%20address%20in%20Student%20Center. If you need a degree verification letter, you can request that through Academic Records in your Student Center (PDF file). If you need a hard copy, you should contact the registrar at restirar at em.wisc.edu Degree verification information: https://registrar.wisc.edu/verification/ Please reach out with any additional questions. Here's the position information if interested: The math department is hiring hourly graders for the fall semester. To apply, just fill out this form: https://forms.gle/t3NrzmoiAt119aCc9 Pay is $22.22/hour -- the number of hours will depend on the course, but there are many in the 100-200 hour range (for the whole semester). The vast majority of courses which need graders are courses which do not already have TAs, which means that almost all grading positions are for math courses at the 400 level and above (largely proof-based). Grader assignments will still be being made during the first week of the semester. You can direct any questions to Bobby Grizzard at grizzard at math.wisc.edu Best, Elizabeth Hart-Baldridge, M.S. Ed. Thank you for filling out the professional development survey earlier this month. Due to popular demand, we will kick off the semester with a student headshot photography session on Sep. 6th Tuesday, 3-6pm on engineering lawn, marked on the map below. If it rains, we will move indoors (Chamberlin) and email everyone that morning announcing the change. Our photographer is Sabrina Wu, a PhD student in Electrical Engineering and a photography enthusiast who has taken graduation pictures and student headshots in the past. We will have a laptop and an adapter so that you can check your pictures on the spot and email it to yourself. Feel free to stop by during that time to get your picture taken and meet fellow students!
