We recognize these events come during a time of increased violence against Asian and APIDA communities throughout the U.S., and we acknowledge the increased feelings of fear, helplessness, and overall distress that these events may cause students. As a result of these concerns, Mental Health Services at UHS will be offering virtual connection and support spaces for students to grieve and process recent events. Virtual spaces will be held online on Monday, June 20 at 5pm and Tuesday, June 21 at 4pm. Mental health providers from University Health Services will be available to all UW-Madison students seeking support. Students can join the virtual spaces online by registering for either Monday, June 20 at 5pm (tonight) or Tuesday, June 21 at 4pm (tomorrow). Throughout the summer, UHS continues to provide a variety of mental health services to students. Students who are not currently enrolled in the summer term, including Spring 2022 graduates, can pay the Summer Health Fee to continue using UHS. Without the Summer Health Fee, all UW-Madison students can continue to access mental health support through virtual Let?s Talk sessions offered daily and a variety of self-guided support resources. Recent attacks on members of our Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American communities are of great concern to University Health Services. Mental Health Services is here to provide safe spaces for students experiencing trauma and safety concerns following these events.
