Dear MSPQC Students:
I hope your spring semester is going well so far! I am reaching out to gather some feedback about MSPQC TA coordination.
1. Are the following spring MSPQC TA office works working for you? If anyone needs a slight adjustment, please let me know. The TA's may be able to accommodate. Tianyi Li tli488@wisc.edumailto:tli488@wisc.edu Monday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4:00 - 5:30 PM Tuesday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4:00 - 5:30 PM Wednesday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4:00 - 5:30 PM Thursday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4:00 - 5:30 PM
Dean Chen tchen463@wisc.edumailto:tchen463@wisc.edu Monday, 3:00 - 5:00 PM Tuesday, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Wednesday, 1:00 - 3:00 PM Thursday, 3:00 - 5:00 PM Friday, 9:30 - 10:30 AM and 2:00 - 3:00 PM
1. I'm not sure if this is already happening, but I thought it might be helpful for all of you and for the MSPQC TA's to share information, ask questions, respond, etc. if there is some form of virtual group formed (maybe on Discord, Slack, Teams, etc.). This would be a way to share questions you have before TA office hours and may give the TA some time to prepare to help you. It may also be a way for peers to chime in and respond to questions as well-or even identify people to work together on a problem. This is just a thought and I'd love to hear whether or not this already exists or if it would be helpful to create. I could help facilitate that. * As a reminder, MSPQC TA's often have access to the Canvas courses for classes in which you're enrolled, but may not necessarily be familiar with all classes/specific topics in which you might seek assistance. In these instances, they will contact the course instructor to help support you. A platform in which you ask questions in advance or that allows for more continuous communication may allow them time to reach out to an instructor and hear back before your next interaction. I know some of their success in responding to you/your questions may depend on response time from an instructor related to inquiries.
Please reach out to me directly through email to share any feedback you have.
Have a wonderful weekend!
