Hello MSPQC Students!
The Spring 2021 schedule of classes is NOW available at https://enroll.wisc.edu/search?term=1216&subject=754. As a reminder, Spring 2021 enrollment begins next week on Monday, April 5th, so I'm writing to you to provide you important details about registering for courses.
The Graduate School policy on enrollment requirements indicates that 4 credits are needed for full time status (https://grad.wisc.edu/documents/enrollment-requirements/). Our Summer Semester officially begins on June 14th, 2021 (Session code DHH: https://registrar.wisc.edu/sessiondates-2/). According to the dates and deadlines found on the Office of the Registrar's website, the last day to enroll without departmental approval is June 18th, 2021. Most of you will likely be enrolling in Physics 707 and Physics 799. Please follow the steps below:
Before you enroll: Please connect with your faculty advisor and discuss the courses you wish to take. Then, complete your Course Plan at (https://app.physics.wisc.edu/gradvise/course-plan/) and obtain approval from your advisor. This step will help us guarantee that you will be on track to graduate.
Physics 707:
Please note: PHY 707 will appear closed at Course Search & Enroll, but an enrollment permission has been setup to allow for MSPQC students to complete enrollment.
Go to Course Search & Enroll enroll.wisc.edu

2.) Please make the following selections on Course Search & Enroll homepage and search:
Term: "Summer 2021" Subject: "Physics" Seats:"Closed"
Click on course Physics 707, click "See Sections" and add 707 to your cart. Proceed to cart and complete steps for enrollment. 707 will appear closed, but an enrollment permission is setup for all MSPQC students, which will you to add the course PHY 707 to your cart and complete enrollment.
Physics 799: For those of you who need to enroll in Physics 799, please email me with details of who you will be working with (and CC that faculty member on the email) and I will respond to you with directions on how to enroll in that section.
Graduation Plans: Finally, please let me know if you will not be graduating this Summer and will be enrolling in courses for Fall 2021.
As always, please don't hesitate to contact me through Microsoft Teams (chat or video) or email me with any questions that you might have along the way. I know this can be complicated and there is a lot going on right now. I'm here to assist you!
