Draft agenda for summer event for DOE CompHEP Traineeship students

Dear all, Peter and I have been working on putting together the agenda for the summer event for the traineeship students, here is the draft https://indico.cern.ch/event/1293313/timetable/ <https://indico.cern.ch/event/1293313/timetable/> It is about three quarters complete because we have to confirm several parts and there are still a few items that are being fleshed out, especially in the more unstructured group work portion. Jason and Heidi we a suggestion for a contribution from each of you on the agenda, what do you think, does it look ok to you? TAC-HEP progress report approved

Dear all, I got a notification from PAMS that our progress report has been approved. It came with the comments listed below. In particular, note the emphasis on the student projects that become more important in year 2 of our program. We should start noting the details related to them on the student pages (Pete has kindly agreed to follow up on the webpage updates needed for this.) ------- *Comments Provided by the Program Manager: *Thank you for the detailed progress report on the first year of TAC-HEP. Helping the first seven students identify projects and lab staff to guide their research projects is welcome progress in the semester that funding has been available. In future progress reports please provide additional details of the student projects topics, mentors, and any successful developments (posters, papers, technical breakthrough etc.) These details are extremely helpful in evaluating the progress that has been made. Additionally, the PI efforts to establish the curriculum and the role the various TAC-HEP PIs have played organizing the Computational HEP Traineeships are greatly appreciated and their leadership is encouraged. As the PIs successfully recruited the expected number of incoming students the previous budget period's carryover will not be spent in this budget period and the support for this budget period will be reduced, as previously discussed. ------- Many thanks and best regards, Tulika
